Tool Selection

Adobe Premiere Pro was selected following evaluation as a highly relevant tool for Media Arts production. It is widely used in professional film, television, and online media industries, giving students authentic exposure to real-world editing workflows. The software allows students to import footage, organise clips on a timeline, trim sequences, and integrate titles, audio, and transitions. These functions support experimentation with pacing, narrative structure, and visual storytelling while building technical confidence through professional-grade editing practices.

Digital Literacy Connection

Premiere Pro supports the Australian Curriculum digital literacy capabilities by enabling students to create, edit, and communicate ideas through multimedia. Students develop skills in selecting appropriate digital tools, manipulating audiovisual elements, and understanding how editing choices shape meaning and audience interpretation.

Curriculum Connection

In the Victoria Media Arts curriculum, students are expected to design and produce media artworks using digital technologies. Premiere Pro supports these outcomes by allowing students to construct and refine sequences that communicate ideas effectively for specific audiences and purposes.
